Two of the most revolutionary acts of the sixties did not play Woodstock-namely The Doors and Bob Dylan. A new book by Woodstock producer Michael Lang “The Road to Woodstock: The Stories Behind Rock History” tells how he tried to get Dylan to play the festival but was unsuccessful. The book is out on June 30th 09.

Ballina Arts Centre (Co.Mayo, Ireland) are holding a tribute to Bob Dylan in their Sound + Vision Festival this year. Movies included on the schedule are Im Not There, Masked and Anonymous, Pat Garret and Billy the Kid and The Last Waltz.

Bob finally gets a place in The Beatles-news is he’s going to be working with the remaining Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr over the summer. Ringo it appears is the glue that will hold Bob and Paul together-being that the pair are never officially supposed to have got on.

“The word is Ringo is likely to play drums on a couple of tracks once Paul and Bob have put some songs together.

“Ringo will be the perfect middleman between Bob and Sir Paul as he knows them both well.”

Incidentally Bob is apparently in the video. .. can you spot him???

An exhibition of Bob Dylan photos from the Rolling Thunder Tours is on now at Gallery One in Dublin. Gallery One is at the top of Dame St, opposite Burdocks’.

(It started on May 1st and goes onto the end of June.)
N.B. The exhibition is really good, with some pix of Dylan at Slane in 1984. I’d heard that some of Bob’s band were in to see the exhibition when the gigs were on in Dublin-also that a man with a hat was with them (!)
I dont know if Bob did pay a secret visit, but there were a few signatures in the Guestbook from Duluth, Minnesota at the time of the gigs in early May.
